There are just a few days left to enjoy National Allotment Week…
Set up by the National Allotment Society and running from 8th to 14th August 2022,
National Allotment Week is a way to celebrate growing your own produce and the benefits that it brings.
The theme this year is ‘Bugs, Bees and Broccoli’ and how we can all work together to not only conserve our green growing spaces, but also how we encourage more insects and wildlife to our allotments.
Over the last year, my allotment has become my happy place. I’ve been able to grow flowers and vegetables, some of which I’ve never grown before and met likeminded people that have all been informative and helpful.
Tending my plot is yet to become a chore, even on a hot summer day or frosty winter morning, I find the time to visit ensuring everything is watered, healthy and to do a spot of weeding!
It’s now time to start planning for 2023!
