    Yes. To add media follow these steps: 1. Enter the app’s Settings 2. Click on the “Manage FAQs” button 3. Select the question you would like to add media to 4. When editing your answer click on the camera, video, or GIF icon 5. Add media from your library.
  • How do I add a new question & answer?
    To add a new FAQ follow these steps: 1. Click “Manage FAQs” button 2. From your site’s dashboard you can add, edit and manage all your questions and answers 3. Each question and answer should be added to a category 4. Save and publish.
  • How do I edit or remove the “FAQ” title?
    You can edit the title from the Settings tab in the app. If you don’t want to display the title, simply disable the Title under “Info to Display”.
  • WHAT AREAS DO YOU DELIVER TO?
    We offer delivery within a 25-mile radius of Odiham, Hampshire (RG29). This includes Basingstoke, Farnham, Alton, Camberley, Farnborough, Bordon, Winchester, Andover, Reading, Guildford and more. We do occasionally deliver outside of this area, but this is done on a job-by-job basis. Please give our office a call on 01256 861345 to discuss your requirements.
  • CAN YOU LIFT BAGS OVER MY FENCE/WALL?
    As per our terms and conditions, our policy is kerb side delivery only. It is down to the driver’s discretion as to whether they can safely lift bags over your fence, wall or hedge. Overhead cables or low hanging branches can be a safety issue for the lorry. We are able to drop your delivery 3 - 4 metres from the vehicle using the grab arm, providing there are no restrictions. The same also applies to collections. Our large bag lorry is able to lift bags over fences and walls at our driver’s discretion, as long as it’s safe to do so. If you require this service, please ensure there is someone at home who can assist when the delivery is made.
  • WHAT SIZE ARE YOUR VEHICLES?
    Our lorries are up to 7-8 metres long and 2.4 metres wide, which is larger than the average bin lorry! We have tipper lorries, which hold up to 20 tonne, and a grab lorry that can hold up to 17 tonne. Our bulk bags will be delivered on our bag lorry, using a HIAB (grab arm). We are able to drop your bags 3-4 metres from the vehicle using the HIAB, providing there are no restrictions. If you are unsure whether our lorries will be able to access your property or have any other access issues, please email us info@topsoiluk.com with photos. Our skilled drivers have many years of experience, and we will always try our hardest to deliver to everyone or come up with an alternative solution.
  • DO YOU DELIVERY ON PALLETS?
    Our bulk bags are delivered using a HIAB(grab arm). This means that the bags are lifted from our lorry and placed onto your property. This means that there are no pallets to dispose of.
  • CAN I REQUEST A SPECIFIC TIME AND DATE FOR MY DELIVERY?
    Our checkout allows you to select a specific delivery date for your order. If you cannot see an available delivery date that works for you, please contact us and we will do our best to help. Be sure to provide us with detailed instructions when placing your order. If you have any queries or concerns, please do give us a call on 01256 861345. Deliveries are made between 8am and 5pm, Monday to Friday. Due to the nature of the business, we cannot offer specific time slots.
  • CAN I COLLECT MATERIALS DIRECTLY FROM YOU?
    We offer direct delivery only.
  • HOW MUCH ARE YOUR DELIVERY CHARGES?
    Delivery of bulk bags starts from £15, and £36 for loose loads. Enter your postcode at the checkout to check the delivery cost to your area.
  • CAN YOU DELIVER ONTO MY DRIVEWAY?
    As per our terms and conditions, our policy is kerb side delivery only. It is down to the driver’s discretion as to whether they can safely leave your order on your driveway. Our drivers will be as helpful as they can and will always do their best to leave your order where requested. Please note, we cannot drive onto block paving driveways as there is risk of causing damage.
  • I LIVE DOWN A SMALL, NARROW LANE. IS DELIVERY STILL POSSIBLE?
    Our lorries are up to 7-8 metres long and 2.4 metres wide, which is larger than the average bin lorry! If you are unsure that our lorries will fit down your road, please do contact us before placing your order and we will be able to advise.
  • WHAT SIZE ARE YOUR BULK BAGS?
    Our bulk bags measure 75 x 85 x 90cm. The volume is approximately 600 litres, which should roughly cover an area of 0.6m3.

  • WHAT IS TOPSOIL?
    Topsoil is the very top layer of soil, which is filled with nutrients and organic matter. It is often used for creating new beds and borders, and also as a base for lawns. Topsoil is often available in different grades, premium and general purpose. Our Multi-Purpose Topsoil, is a general purpose topsoil, perfect for a variety of uses in the garden and landscaping projects. Screened and mixed here on our site in Odiham, we combine organic matter to add extra nutrients into the soil, as well as sand and small stones to aid drainage. Our Premium Topsoil is a sandy, loamy product that is screened between 5mm-10mm, making it ideal for seeding. This soil is also mixed with organic matter, small stones and a higher level of sand – making it free draining. Our soil is regularly tested to ensure is meets British standards BS3882:2015 PAS 100, where appropriate.
  • HOW CAN I IMPROVE SANDY SOIL?
    Known as a light soil, sandy soil can drain much quicker after watering. This soil will warm up quickly in Spring and is often easy to work with. Sandy soil is often low in nutrients and can dry out very quickly. Boost the nutrients and water content by adding Soil Improver and mulching with a deep layer of Woodland Mulch.
  • WHAT SOIL DO I NEED?
    We sell four different types of soil – Multi-Purpose Topsoil, Premium Topsoil, Top Dressing and Premium Vegetable Mix. Multi-Purpose Topsoil – Our best seller, this soil is suitable for a variety of garden and landscaping jobs, including beds and borders, pots and planters, raised bed, vegetable plots and allotments, as well as turfing and seeding. Premium Topsoil – Screened between 5mm-10mm, this soil is finer than our Multi-Purpose Topsoil, which makes it ideal for seeding lawns, turfing and topping borders and flower beds. Top Dressing – This is used when your lawn requires some TLC. Applied once the lawn is aerated, top dressing is applied. This will improve the soils texture and drainage, giving you a lush lawn come Spring! Premium Vegetable Mix – Perfect for veg patches, allotments or anywhere you wish to grow veg! A blend of topsoil, PlantGrow and organic matter, will ensure your veggies get all the nutrients they need.
  • HOW CAN I IMPROVE CLAY SOIL?
    Clay soils are often very fertile once the ground has been loosened up. Break up compacted clay soil by adding gritty Sharp Sand, along with organic matter such as Soil Improver. This will also increase fertility and make the soil easier to work with.
  • HOW CAN I IMPROVE CHALKY SOIL?
    Chalky soil is often very stoney and lumpy, free draining but lacking in nutrients. It is also an alkaline soil, which means it isn’t suitable for ericaceous plants. To improve your chalky soil, dig in plenty of organic matter such as Mushroom Compost, or Soil Improver. This will not only add much needed nutrients to your soil but will also help improve moisture retention.
  • HOW MUCH TOPSOIL DO I NEED?
    Use our Topsoil calculator to help estimate the right amount of soil required for your project. You will need to know the length and width of your space that you wish to cover/fill, as well as the required depth.   • WHAT IS MUSHROOM COMPOST?
    Mushroom Compost is often referred to as ‘spent’ compost, as it is compost left over from mushroom farming. Traditionally, it is made with well-rotted stable manure, however it is now often made using compost straw.
  • IS COMPOST BENEFICIAL FOR MY GARDEN?
    Yes! Adding compost (Soil Improver) to your soil has many benefits, including: - Improves soil fertility and moisture retention. - Reduces the need for chemical fertilisers as it is filled with natural nutrients. - Helps break down heavy clay soils and adds humus to sandy soils, helping it hold more water. - Helps keep pH levels stable.
  • WHAT CAN MUSHROOM COMPOST BE USED FOR?
    The high organic matter of mushroom compost makes it idea for improving soil or mulching. It is most useful on acidic soils that are low in organic matter, however it is not recommended for neutral, alkaline or chalky soils.
  • WHAT IS COMPOST?
    Compost is decomposed organic matter, such as leaves, wood, green waste, etc., that is rich in nutrients. It can be used to improve the quality of your existing soil or can be used as a planting medium.
  • WHAT CAN BARK BE USED FOR?
    Bark can be used around the garden for mulching or decorative purposes. Mulching will help supress weeds, protect the soil and help increase moisture retention. Our Woodland Mulch is ideal for mulching, as well as a cost-effect decorative product. Landscaping Bark is suitable for pathways, decorative areas such as topping beds and borders, and can also be used as a mulch. Due to it being a natural product, bark will rot down over time, which will add nutrients into the soil below.
  • WHAT CAN I USE COMPOST FOR?
    Compost, such as our Soil Improver, can be added to your existing soil to add nutrients and help improve the overall quality of the soil. Our Soil Improver is a totally natural product made from decomposed green waste, such as leaves and grass, and contains nutrients such as nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium, all of which are essential for plant growth. Once mixed with soil, use our soil improver for your plants, vegetables, trees and shrubs.
  • WHAT SOIL CAN BE USED FOR SEEDING A LAWN?
    It is important that the area you wish to seed is well prepared, weeds are cleared, compacted soil is loosened, and the ground is levelled.   • WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PRIMARY AND RECYCLED AGGREGATES?
    Primary aggregates are usually sourced directly from the quarry, whilst recycled (or secondary) aggregates are obtained from sites that process them ready for reuse. All recycled products are screened washed and are sourced from approved suppliers who produce quality materials from construction waste. Recycled aggregates are a fantastic way to save money and help the environment.
  • WHAT COLOUR IS YOUR SHINGLE?
    As it is a natural product, we cannot determine the colour of our shingle. If you are taking on a large project and require a consistent colour, we advise you to order in one go as any future deliveries may vary in colour.
  • WHAT IS PEA SHINGLE?
    Pea shingle is small stones between 6mm-10mm in size. The colouring can vary, but is usually brown, grey and white – similar to colours on a stoney beach.   • WHAT MATERIALS CAN BE TAKEN AWAY VIA A MUCK-AWAY?
    As a license waste carrier, we can remove the following materials using a muck-away service: green waste, sandy/sub-soil, concrete, tarmac, hardcore, brick, tiles, paving slabs, rubble, shingle, stone and wood (green waste wood).
  • WHAT IS A MUCK-AWAY?
    A muck-away is the removal of waste material from a site. This could be soil, stone, hardcore, chalk, as well as other materials. We also provide Wood and Green Aways, removing wooden pallets, greenery, branches and more. Muck-aways are usually undertaken with our grab lorry. The driver will the grab arm to pick up the waste materials and then place them into the bed of the vehicle. For larger projects, where dumpers and excavators are on site to load the vehicle, tipper lorries can be use.
